Silicone Elastomeric Roof Coating

High-Solids, Single-Component Silicone Waterproofing Coating

Silicone coatings

Product Overview

Liquid Silicone Roof Coating is a high-solids, single-component, moisture-curing silicone coating for the restoration and long-term waterproof protection of existing roof systems. A practical and cost-effective alternative to full roof replacement when a roof is leaking or deteriorating but the structure is still sound.

Applied by brush or roller directly to most existing roof surfaces, the coating cures to a seamless, highly flexible elastomeric membrane that remains permanently elastic, resistant to UV and capable of withstanding ponding water.

A good option for building owners looking to extend the watertightness of their roof for years to come without the cost of a full re-roof. Also well suited to roofs with many penetrations where fitting a sheet membrane would be difficult or impractical.

Frequently Asked Questions about Silicone Coatings

What is a silicone elastomeric roof coating?

It is a liquid-applied silicone waterproofing coating that cures into a seamless, flexible membrane designed to protect roof surfaces from water ingress, UV exposure and weathering.

Is this coating suitable for exposed roof applications?

Yes. Silicone elastomeric coatings are specifically designed for exposed roofing, offering excellent UV stability and resistance to standing water and harsh weather conditions.

Can it be applied over existing roof membranes?

Yes. The coating adheres well to many existing roof systems, including single-ply membranes and weathered metal, provided surfaces are properly prepared and compatibility is confirmed.

Can the membrane be applied over existing waterproofing systems?

The coating can be applied over certain existing membranes such as bitumen, PVC or EPDM, provided compatibility has been confirmed and the surface is correctly prepared and primed.

Does the coating remain flexible over time?

Yes. Once cured, the coating remains permanently flexible, allowing it to bridge cracks and accommodate thermal movement without losing waterproofing performance.

Is the coating resistant to ponding water?

Yes. Silicone coatings are highly resistant to prolonged exposure to standing water, making them suitable for flat and low-slope roofs.
