Joint Band Tape
Flexible Waterproofing Joint Reinforcement Tape
- Easy to apply
- High strength while remaining elastic
- Sealing movement and control joints

Product Overview
Joint Band is a flexible waterproofing sealing tape designed to reinforce and seal joints, junctions, cracks, and areas subject to movement within liquid-applied and cementitious waterproofing systems.
Manufactured using a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) core bonded to polypropylene non-woven fleece, Joint Band features a central elongation zone that allows controlled movement while maintaining a watertight seal. The fleece edges ensure strong mechanical bonding when embedded into wet waterproofing membranes, providing long-term durability in both internal and external applications.
Joint Band is suitable for use beneath ceramic tiles, natural stone, screeds, and other finishes, delivering reliable waterproofing performance in high-risk and high-movement areas.

Advantages
- Elastic joint band with central elongation zone for controlled movement
- Reinforced fleece edges ensure excellent bonding to waterproofing membranes
- Highly resistant to structural movement, cracking, and thermal expansion
- Compatible with water-based liquid membranes and cementitious waterproofing systems
- Alkali, chemical, and salt resistant for long-term durability
- Vapour-resistant yet waterproof construction
- Tear-proof and dimensionally stable
- Eliminates the need for traditional caulking at reinforced joints
- Compliant with bond-breaker requirements in wet area waterproofing systems
Installation Guidelines
- Ensure the substrate is clean, stable, and free from dust, oil, grease, and loose materials.
- Apply a first coat of compatible waterproofing membrane to the area.
- While the membrane is still wet, embed Joint Band rubber side down, pressing firmly so the membrane fully penetrates the fleece edges.
- Smooth out with a spatula or trowel to avoid creasing.
- Overlap adjoining lengths by a minimum of 50 mm.
- Apply a second wet-on-wet coat to fully encapsulate the Joint Band.
- Allow the system to cure in accordance with the membrane manufacturer’s instructions.
Tip: Use pre-formed internal and external corners for best detailing at changes of direction.
Limitations & Precautions
- Do not use with solvent-based waterproofing systems
- Joint Band is not UV stable and must be covered by tiles, screeds, or protective layers
- Not designed for exposed applications without overcoating
- Always follow membrane manufacturer compatibility recommendations
