More Details

APPLICATIONS

  • Slope stabilisation and embankment protection
  • Erosion control on exposed or disturbed ground
  • Rehabilitation and re-vegetation of degraded sites
  • Stabilisation of steep slopes and drainage channels
  • Grass and wetland restoration projects
  • Roadside and infrastructure landscaping
  • Soil retention for hydroseeding and revegetation works
  • Temporary soil protection until vegetation establishes

The open-weave coir geotextile slows down surface water flow, reduces soil erosion, and encourages seed germination. As it decomposes, it enriches the soil with organic matter, helping native vegetation to take hold and provide long-term stabilisation.

With a service life of around 4–5 years, MERZ Coir Mats offer reliable protection while vegetation establishes naturally, after which the mat biodegrades completely into the soil.
